Small Grants for Suffolk-based businesses

The business support landscape has historically been rather complex for our manufacturing members, however, we are delighted to see a recent upsurge in grants awarded for manufacturing and engineering business across Suffolk and Norfolk with over £7m in grants delivered to 200 manufacturing businesses between 2020-2023. A new wave of grants for Suffolk businesses is now live!! More details below.

Suffolk Business Grant Scheme (Revenue)

The Suffolk Business Grant Scheme is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It is delivered by Babergh District Council, East Suffolk Council, Ipswich Borough Council, Mid Suffolk District Council and West Suffolk Council.

The Suffolk district councils are looking to provide support to businesses across Suffolk to grow and become more productive, to encourage innovation and to become more environmentally sustainable through small grants to local SME businesses.

Businesses can apply for grants between £5,000 and £10,000, which can be used to part fund up to half of your project cost.

Suffolk Business Grant Scheme (Capital)

The Suffolk Business Grant Scheme (Capital) is funded by the Rural England Prosperity Fund and it is delivered by West Suffolk Council.

Businesses can apply for grants between £5,000 and £10,000, which can be used to part fund up to half of your project cost.

The scheme is available across West Suffolk, excluding Bury St Edmunds due to Government guidance on urban population areas.

The specialist business growth advisers will work with you to make sure your project is suitable for the grant scheme (or advise you of other potential more suitable grant schemes) and support you in developing your application as required. As part of the process, New Anglia Growth Hub business advisers will carry out an initial in-depth diagnostic exercise to determine the eligibility of your business and identify what type of support you require.

The services of the Growth Hub are free and impartial, but you will need to register your details with them to access support.
