National Manufacturing Day 2023 with Make UK
Employers across the East of England are urged to support National Manufacturing Day and open up their door to the local community to showcase all things manufacturing and engineering!
National Manufacturing Day will take place this year on Thursday 28 September. The ask of UK manufacturers to open their factories to their local community, schools and colleges to show the amazing job opportunities available in our exciting sector. Help us make 2023 even better – get your thinking caps on and start to plan what you want to do on the day, you don’t have to do it alone, you could even link up with other manufacturers local to you!
Last year numours NAAME members supported the event and have plenty of ideas on how to run the day of activities. These members are more than willing to share their ideas and lessons learnt from last year to make the process as simple and smooth as possible for your business this year! NAAME can support with connecting you to your local schools, colleges and universities and assist with promoting the event.
Make UK’s full NMD website will be launched soon, but please pledge your support now. You don’t have to have details of what you would do on the day ready – just a commitment to being involved is all we need for now. Last year Make UK’s campaign reached over 2 million people on twitter with National Manufacturing Day posts and our LinkedIn engagement went to record levels with a spike of 270% on the day.
Once again we will be teaming up with the Department for Education which will promote your events and your company in schools and colleges around the UK. We will also work with the Department for Work and Pensions to showcase the roles you have on offer and champion manufacturing as a career in all Job Centre Plus sites.
Remember, you can open for as little or as much of the day as you want – whether that is just doing a couple of tours in the morning, to hosting lots of activities for different age groups throughout the day. The choice is yours.
