Freeport East announce funding for Innovation and Clean Growth

Freeport East announce the opening of their two new funds, backed by an initial £800,000 of financial support.

These funds aim to provide crucial support to ambitious local businesses and create opportunities for local people pursuing careers in green energy and other emerging economic sectors.

Freeport East Clean Growth Fund

The Freeport East Clean Growth Fund will provide financial assistance to local businesses operating within clean energy and Freeport East’s other target sectors. This includes developing new products, targeting new export opportunities, expanding production and building greater staff capacity.

Freeport East Innovation and Skills Fund

The Freeport East Innovation and Skills Fund seeks to address the surging demand for a skilled workforce and innovations in green energy and other target sectors within the region. The fund supports the entire Freeport East area, with a particular emphasis on underserved communities. This could go towards new or improved facilities or services that train, up-skill and inspire, as well as foster more innovation in the region.

Both funds are designed to make a significant impact within the Freeport East region, spanning parts of Suffolk and Essex. We want to drive innovation, create opportunities, and shape a greener future together.

Following an earlier expressions of interest stage, formal applications are now open. For more details, please visit the newly relaunched Freeport East website
