Make UK International Trade Webinar – UKCA & CE Marking

Conformity markings are important, as they demonstrate that a product has been designed and manufactured in accordance with legal and safety requirements. Great Britain has its own legal framework for the sale of goods and from 1 January 2023, UK and global manufacturers must use the UK conformity assessment marking (UKCA) to place goods on the market in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and in Northern Ireland, the use of CE and the new UKNI marking is mandatory.

This short webinar provides a further update on the actions that business need to take to ensure compliance with these responsibilities. It’s important that manufacturers, suppliers, and employers understand the UKCA and UKNI marking requirements. For manufacturers, the rules impact what markings they should be placing on their products; for suppliers, it affects what they can and can’t supply at certain points in time; and for employers, it affects what they can and can’t purchase from suppliers.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) will provide an overview of how the requirements for the UKCA mark will apply, and related ongoing compliance. Additionally, the market surveillance authority will be presenting on their role.
