Introduction to Lean Manufacturing Techniques with Lotus Cars

We are delighted to bring Norfolk and Suffolk manufacturers the opportunity to attend this exclusive workshop, a free taster training workshop on the fundamentals of Lean Manufacturing Techniques delivered by Lotus Cars.

Through this learning, participants develop a foundational understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles, two methodologies aimed at enhancing efficiency and quality in processes. They learn that Lean focuses on waste elimination (MUDA), identifying eight types of inefficiencies—such as overproduction, waiting, and excess inventory—that undermine productivity.

Six Sigma principles concentrate on reducing process variation to improve quality and consistency. Learners also explore the advantages of applying Lean and Six Sigma, including increased productivity, cost savings, and greater customer satisfaction.

Lastly, they gain insight into the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) methodology, a structured, data-driven approach to continuous improvement, empowering organisations to systematically examine and refine their processes. By the end of the course the attendee will be able to:

 • Show a general understanding of the principles of Lean.

• Show a general understanding of the principles of 6 Sigma.

• Identify and understand the principles of MUDA (8 Wastes).

• Understand the benefits of Lean/6 Sigma.

• Understand the methodology of the DMAIC process
