Hemp and Bio-based Materials Challenge Lab at UoS

The University of Suffolk (UoS) are holding a Hemp and Biobased Materials Challenge Lab on 18 May 2023. The theme of the day will be to discuss and explore routes to market, barriers to delivery, and implications for the region and nationally for hemp and bio-based materials in construction and retrofitting. We are inviting regional landowners, growers, producers, and contractors to this event, alongside designers, policy makers and planners. As you know Suffolk has a strong history of hemp production, and several completed projects in the county using hemp-based products.

The UoS has introduced Challenge Labs as a new model to tackle societal issues.  They bring together individuals from across different sectors and organisations to address a challenge and work together to generate ideas for solutions. We are anticipating approximately 24 participants on the day and would like to invite you to attend as you have unique views, understanding and experience to address this challenge creatively. We have had excellent outcomes from previous Challenge Lab events, tackling other challenge areas, which have led to further research and funding opportunities. Seed resource has been dedicated to scope identified solutions leading from this Challenge Lab.
