Growing Together: Agri-Food in the East of England

Join New Anglia LEP on 8th November 2-3pm as we put the spotlight on the pre-eminence of the East of England in the UK’s food chain and share insights on some of the regional collaborative projects which are helping develop the next generation of technologies. We will also be seeking your input to help identify the areas in which future agritech investment should focus.

The East of England grows almost a third of the UK’s crops, including nearly half of our home-grown vegetables. The region is also a major centre of food processing, including over half of the UK’s fish processing. Supporting over 150,000 jobs, the food chain in the East of England is also underpinned by the most significant food logistics sector in the UK. Central to our success is the East of England’s passion for innovation, and outstanding research base – at the forefront of crop and plant research globally, we are also forging ahead with new developments in robotics and agri-tech.
