Overview
Bringing CNI stakeholders together to define challenges, drive UK cyber innovation & support resilience and security goals.
Cyber Runway is the largest cyber accelerator in the UK. It is designed to address some of the biggest challenges facing cyber security, such as diversity and inclusion and regional representation, and supports the most promising innovators at various stages of growth.
Cyber Runway: CNI presents the opportunity for cross industry stakeholders to play a key role in strengthening the UK’s critical national infrastructure (CNI) against evolving cyber threats.
Led by Plexal, the programme will bridge the gap between cutting-edge UK cyber innovation and the urgent security needs of sectors such as energy, water, agrifood, telecoms, transportation and data centres.
This strategic workshop will convene a diverse mix of voices from across the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) landscape – including government and policy makers, industry leaders, SMEs, academia, and technical experts. The aim is to collaboratively explore the sector’s strategic priorities, capability gaps, and key problem drivers.
The workshop will have a specific focus on the energy, transportation, telecoms and agricultural sectors, however we invite individuals from all sectors.
Through facilitated discussions, the event will surface actionable opportunities and iterate challenge statements to define a clear problem space with strong stakeholder alignment. This process will help shape future innovation efforts and inform targeted interventions.
The workshop directly supports the UK government’s cyber resilience agenda by:
- Supporting the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill
- Identifying CNI specific security challenges
- Accelerating the adoption of UK sovereign cyber innovation
- Building a resilient supply chain
By fostering cross-sector collaboration, this event will help ensure the UK remains at the forefront of cyber innovation and infrastructure protection. Outputs will help to inform DSIT’s future policy and strategy.
A more detailed agenda will be released shortly.
Cyber Runway is funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and delivered by innovation and growth company Plexal. The overall goal of Cyber Runway – part of the Cyber Growth Action Plan – is to drive innovation, create high-quality jobs and secure long-term economic resilience, all of which are areas Plexal specialises in.
