Engineering Bootcamp Named Finalists in Enginuity Skills Awards

NAAME and East Coast College were delighted to be shortlisted as finalists in the Training Partner of the Year category at the Enginuity Skills Awards on the 5 June.

Enguinity Skills Awards is the UK’s most prestigious event celebrating the best of the UK’s engineering and manufacturing talent, and the organisations championing skills development, to ensure a bright future for these vital sectors in the UK economy.

Congratulations to the winners, Gloucestershire Engineering Training and other finalist Zzeus Training.

The Engineering Skills Bootcamp was curated by NAAME, local employers, Great Yarmouth & East Suffolk councils and East Coast College.

The Bootcamp isn’t your typical training course on offer – it included a number of site visits and factory tours of local employers covering various skills-sets such as electrical, injection moulding, machining, CAD, ship building, welding and fabricating.

The course also included a number of certificated training courses to help build learners CVs and their employability skills.

The final piece of the puzzle that made this course different from the rest was a guaranteed interview for all participants on the course, this ensured a quick match between any vacancies in the sector and the available labour pool.

We are pleased to announce that a number of learners who have completed the Bootcamp have secured full time positions in the engineering and manufacturing sector locally.
