Eastern Manufacturers Spotlight Innovation for NMD 2024

As part of National Manufacturing Day, numerous NAAME members opened their doors to over 450 students, teachers and community members, busting myths about the manufacturing industry and igniting a passion for future careers in this dynamic and innovative sector.

The UK’s National Manufacturing Day 2024 organised by Make UK, taking place on 26th September, is an event aimed at celebrating and promoting the vital role of the manufacturing sector in the UK economy. Organised by Make UK, it offers manufacturers across the country an opportunity to open their doors to students, jobseekers, and local communities, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at modern manufacturing operations.

The day seeks to challenge outdated perceptions of the industry by highlighting cutting-edge technology, innovation, and sustainable practices, while also showcasing diverse career opportunities.

National Manufacturing Day also plays a key role in addressing the skills gap by encouraging young people to pursue careers in engineering and manufacturing and supporting recruitment into the sector.

Thanks to our members Warren, HF Bond, Gerda Security, Timberwolf, Spectrum Control, Peerless Plastics, Stainless Metalcraft, AKP, Boniface Engineering, Crane Garden Buildings for taking part in the day.
